Can My Car Be Remapped at Home?

The short answer
Often, yes. If your ECU can be read and written through the diagnostic port and the location is suitable, a mobile appointment at home or work is usually possible. Some ECUs and jobs need our Slough workshop.
Mobile compatibility
Compatibility depends on the ECU, not the car's age or brand alone. We check the exact engine and ECU before offering a mobile visit.
Location
We need a safe, legal place to park with the car accessible. Private driveways and permitted workplace parking work well. Tell us the postcode and any access restrictions.
ECU unlock requirements
Some newer ECUs are protected and must be unlocked, sometimes by removing the ECU. That work is usually done in the workshop.
Preparing for the appointment
- A healthy battery, or the car parked where a support charger can reach.
- No warning lights, or tell us about them in advance.
- Keys and any locking wheel nut or security codes available.
- Enough time: most software work takes a couple of hours.
When the workshop is better
Hardware fitting, Stage 2, gearbox work and bench unlocks are better suited to the Slough workshop.
